Plankandkegwereheardnomore。Thehorsemenfounditoutandrestrainedtheirgambols。MedicineBowwentgraduallyhome。Isawdoorsshutting,andlightsgoout;Isawalatefewreassembleatthecardtables,andthedrummersgatheredthemselvestogetherforsleep;theproprietorofthestore(youcouldnotseeamorerespectable-lookingperson)hopedthatIwouldbecomfortableonthequilts;andIheardSteveurgingtheVirginiantotakeonemoreglass。

“We’venotmetforsolong,“hesaid。
